I am interested in playing some foos and don't really know anyone who plays. Is this time and place pretty regular? I have not played in a tournament so figure I would be considered a rookie/beginner.

Thanks

Here let me give you the run down..
You are in the Mecca state of the best foosball players in the Galaxy.

And yes Misfit's is the home base for four tournaments a week, I would suggest you show up on Mondays, then watch for awhile to see if you really want to put in the work and table time to compete. I say this because some players can get discouraged because of even the low rank caliber.

Then if you want to see the higher caliber players on Wednesday Friday and Saturdays, just to see what your up against, then knock yourself out on those nights.

All in all it's the best arena location there is in this part of the country, the entry is 10 buckaroos a head.

Now if you want a lower entry level of 5 buckaroos and winning payment, then there is the Balloon Inn ran by Kidd Thunder on Thursdays.

Thanks for the info. Seems like the Monday posts come with a short notice, so wanted to be prepared. If Mondays are a regular thing I may show up to play and see what its all about. I am stoked to try some DYP Monday nights, even if I get beat up a little.

All these tournaments throughout the week are consistent as clock work in a watch shop...

Yeah, ease yourself into it, because it will be overwhelming at first for awhile.

Oops just kidding, just feeding you BS... Bwaaaaa

So the million dollar question is, who is the positive and who is negitive?

Now personally, I relate The Colorado Oracle Master jediR.O.T.N.teacher as the battery unit...just standing and thinking outside the big box

Note to lilkicks....

How much do you really want to learn about this game?
that's the first Question.

Second is I can teach you and make you into one of the best beginner Rookie players, (that is if there is such a rank?) this state has ever seen, even without first seeing you or the level of your play before hand, and getting you to the plateau to dominate amateurs within 13 months.

Second Q is, could you possibly commit? Is what I ask myself in totally knowing what it would take to get you there to that plateau......

Third, there is NO set price of payment, since it will be the art form of The Jedi freestyle that you will be learning, although a small donation of a drink or two at the arena would be acceptable for the effort, but not necessary what so ever since I really don't drink that much, but sometimes it fits the moment, which is what freestyle is all about!

I want to show and prove again like I have done 3 times already, that I can take any player at any rank level and turn them into a champion title holder within 13 months, since that seems to be the going record.

So who wants to be a Master!????

Interesting. I am intrigued but it is hard to completely answer that without really knowing what it entails. Sounds like a discussion that could be had over a few games.

Hey hey, I want to play some foos! Didn't know where the foosers played here in CO. Been asking around for 10 years. I've had a table for over 25 years but no competition to play with. Therefore, my skills have deteriorated to “has been” newbie. :(

Wooden Nickel in Utah is where I learned with some lightning quick players; the Silver Cloud was where I played on ladies nights. Always me playing both positions on one side against 2 players with a line waiting.

Played a few games in Lone Tree where they have one table that was nothing like the“one” goalie table I have. It was like playing with a “claw”. So, I have some learning to do. Doubt I will be as good as I once was. But, it will be fun to play again with actual FOOSERS!

Jedi, I'll buy you some beers if you will coach me a bit to see if my skills can be revived to any sort of pride.

Well Suezynne, my first suggestion would be to get the address and number, that is posted by RayGun in the first post on this thread. That location is the main vain for the Colo player base, and again where the #1 players on the planet compete during the local season, that is untill the annual Colorado State championships arrive in beginning November at the DoubleTree Graystone Castle on 120th I-25....
I can't help but wonder, but how in the hell did you slip through the cracks in this game for the last 10 years in this state.. it just goes to show, we are just not known to the general public, or that this professional game just doesn't get the advertiesing that is necessary to get the word out about this game we all play..
I guess we are like a secret society, and we players are the only ones who know about us.

Well if you think about it, we foosball players basically only represent a fraction of 1% of the total human population...

Now as for the Jedi, I'll teach anyone that is willing to listen!

Jedi, I will listen as long as I don't have to practice with my eyes closed ;) When will be a good time to go tomorrow if I want to go early to practice…. Hopefully there's someone to practice with!

Yeah, the advertising is zero for Foosers as far as what I can tell. Recently I've been getting out after the loss of 3 close family members. Everywhere I go I ask people where I can find a Foosball table. They look up as if they are trying to pull from their memory; but can't seem to figure out where they've seen one. Lots of comments like, “no one plays Foos anymore”, “that's an ancient game”.

Tables are non existent in Parker, Highlands Ranch and only one in Lone Tree. I think it's time to bring Foos back out of the shadows! I'm heading out for a “lemon drop martini”, I will start asking establishments to get a table! So sad…. we are deprived of Foos at this end of Denver!

Well I don't know about the blindfold trick, but there might be a time I'll have you close your eyes, so you don't defensively move...

As far as getting around lately, it's been at the wim of other means, since my starship isn't space legal yet...
I've been skip landing here and there for the last year, but I'm actually located in Northern Greeley weld county off and on, but that's my home town, I'll be back there soon this week after being near your region here in the south for the month.

But for sure you need to attend Colorado State, it will shatter your illusions that the game still lies in the shadows... It's more like the sport is sitting on the Launchpad ready to take off, but we're waiting for the command from the launch center to push the button!

Jedi,

Hopefully you can get transported to Misfits somehow tonight. Uber/Lift! I'm going early to play a few rounds and do some learning. Anyone up to play a newbie before the tournament?

I have family in Frederick and Ft Collins. Unfortunately, they got rid of their Foosball tables. :/

SoozFooz ... liking this name better than Suezynne

Note to lilkicks and Soozfooz, send me a PM on this forum with your basic info, and I'll get back to you when I settle back north soon.
I will be retreaving my personal table from a Northern location and will be training for Colorado State...

As far as getting dedicated to teaching and training others on a regular basis that is needed for muscle memory, one needs to be on the table at least 3 days a week..
But because Colorado Championships is around the corner, I will have to wait till after that to train anyone one on one or in a small class..
Also I definitely need to observe your game caliber to see where everyone is at, just to get an idea on what you all need to start off with, and trust me I will know after a short observation..

Anyone else wanting to go to the next level just let me know!
