I'm happy to announce that Boston Foosball (Kent/Matt) is offering 1 night stay at the Holiday Inn (Boston/Somerville) during their Mass State Fireball tournament Sept 10-12, 2010, valued at around $100 (hotel is $99, not including tax, etc).

To figure out who gets the prize we're going to do a points race. I'm going to tally points for the next 8 Tuesday Fat Cat DYP's starting July 12,2010 until Sept 1, 2010. I'm going to use my reverse place points system, so if there are 6 teams and you finish 1st you get 6 points and if you finish 6th you get 1 point. So articipation as well as placing is important. We will be running a completely random Open DYP. Obviously you can only qualify to win if you are planning to go to the Mass State Fireball tournament. You'll have to decide before Tuesday Sept 7, 2010 and let me know. If there's a tie, we'll do a singles playoff Tuesday Sept 7, 2010. This is open to anybody. I will not be eligible for the prize.

The hotel has plenty of free parking and is also easily accessible by public transportation. Unfortunately they are not allowed to shuttle people from Logan Airport directly, but if you take the MBTA so Sullivan Station on the Orange Line they will be able to pick you up there.

Hello everyone,

We have some announcements to make about the upcoming $6000 Massachusetts State Championships, being held this September 10-12 at the Holiday Inn in Somerville.

First off, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to get a full shipment of 3 man goalie tables to Boston in time for the tournament. Due to the popularity of the 3 man goalie models in other parts of the country, only 3-4 tables were available for our use in the US, and a new shipment would not make it in time for the tournament.

After discussions with the Fireball team, we have decided it is better to have one type of table than have half and half, so the tournament will be run on ten 1 man goalie tables.

In reflection of this change, as a show of good faith to the players, we are dropping the price of tables for sale at MA States to $675. Please also contact me about potential further discounts. I believe this is the lowest advertised price at any tournament. In addition, for a price TBD, players at MA State may make advanced reservations for the updated, new edition 3 man goalie tables which will be on sale at the Fireball US Open in Maryland.

I have heard from a lot of different areas in the Northeast who are sending a group, so this is shaping up to be a great tournament! I hope this doesn't change your plans.

Second, for local players - the tables are on their way right now and will be here in advance of the tournament. Please message me about possibly getting a preview. I will try to have a table or two set up at my house once they arrive before the tournament.

Third, please see the link below to our college events facebook group and flier. If you know any unrated college players that may be interested, please let them know! Entry is not restricted to Boston area colleges.

Lastly, the hotel reservation deadline is August 26th (Today.) The hotel will honor the group rate after this date, but our room block will be released and travel to Boston is fairly popular in the Fall, so please book your rooms today if you are planning on attending!

The College Championships will be held Friday afternoon starting at 3. The flier will be posted to the website soon. You can also find the flier on the "College Foosball in Boston" Group. This would be a huge help.
