I'm looking for a partner if anyone is interested. I'm pretty green but am likely better than nothing. I’m Nick’s friend, Josh. I've shown up at BC's the last few tournaments.

Turns out I can't make it this Friday. The pot just got smaller, sorry guys. However, I will resume my donations in a couple weeks...not next week, cuz I will be winning next week.

No Dustin... If you stuff there goalie shot with any forward rod, you get the ball on the 3, BUT ITS CALLED"GOOD FORWARD DELIGHT"!

and if you make the "Delight "shot, then you get the ball back on the 3 again..

if you make it again, it goes back on the 3..

repeat if necessary...

now that would be a goalies nightmare without a doubt!

STFU
If the goalie scores they get the next drop in the goalie area. If you stuff a goalie you get the point and the drop in your goalie area. (3 Bar stuff only) neither carry over to next game.
Very simple as not to confuse any Jedi's
top goalie gets 10% points marked on the bracket sheet.
$10.00 entry

For a fleeting moment, things got really stupid...like when you're innocently watching a tv show, and suddenly Frank Azar's clients start talking.

Its about time the entry went up, it sure would be great to see it stay at a 10 buck payment. In fact, $20 would be more like it...this baby sissy 5 dollar entry has truly gotten old!!!!!!!
I mean, after all, how long has it been, 35 years?
Its time for a change in the entry fee!

One thing for sure, a 10 or 20 buck entry may separate the Pros from the Conn's.
not to mention force other things in a players game...

I would love to see a 20 buck entry for a weekly singles tournament, who has the balls for that!

Im in...........

I actually wouldn't mind seeing the entries go up to $10, especially to offset the raise to $1/game. As long as we have a weekly DYP for the beginners to go and spend $5 on, I don't think it would hurt the turnouts.

This is supposed to be the Mecca of foos, and we only have one decent tournament a week (I'm not counting 404) where you spend almost as much on quarters as you do the entry. I'm not saying we need any high stakes action, but bump it up a little bit so that when players get 2nd or 3rd, they don't just barely break even after quarters and gas. I'll still come out and play either way because I love the sport but some more motivation would be nice. Nothing screams "I'm not serious about foos" more than a $5 entry. Well, maybe Nick's 2-bar.

There's a reason why the entry fees haven't had a steady increase since the 70's. I laugh when I think about how the entry fee was $5 when I started playing and is still $5 more than 35 years later. The price of a game has gone from a quarter to a dollar however. History has proven itself over and over that the higher entry fees unfortunately lead to fewer players so you end up playing for the same size pot but your cost is higher so Dustin sorry bro but you'll go home with $5 less.
Now raise it to $20 and you may get the Pro Masters and other top players out more at the expense of the 'lesser' players but then poor Jedi would never cash. Oh sure, 'lessers' will show up on occasion but not weekly. Then bar owners will ask "why again am I matching half the pot for the dozen or fewer Foosers, half of which are only drinking water?"
Sorry to burst your pipe dreaming bubbles.

IMO a test here and there with the $10 entry would be cool, to see what happens. ((maybe it brings out more of the big guns cuz it'll be worth their time). And that would be awesome!) idk, but we can find out by trying it!

But if it was done every week and became the standard, I could see it making it that much less accessible to new players to the game, ESPECIALLY considering BC's only being a bring.

Why does a tiny place like Vail have kick ass tourneys and a fun scene? Anyone can show up, pay a measly $5 and potentially have a chance to draw someone good and do well. It builds repeat 'customers'. There's an aspect of HOPE. And over time, that breeds SKILL by those who want to consistently do well.

Imagine the drop-out rate we've had with people who LOVE the game of foosball, but eventually get over it cuz they basically cant EVER win even a single match at tourneys.

Just food for thought words there.

I KNOW if Ecks woulda been my original stomping ground before I got decent at all..., I might have been like "fuck those guys", and not been interested in tournament foosball. But with having a gentler introduction to tourney foos through Cameron Cross's tourneys in FC, it def made me go from 'liking' the game, to LOVING it, and eventually even getting a solid handful more new players into it.

Just imagine the massive turnouts we'd have if we lowered the entries to $2.

A man after my Jedi mind!

Hey i know what , lets start with a dollar, and work the entry up from there in another 35 years, when we get to 5 bucks again, we can see where the game level is..

Then the third generation of players can get on the 9 th Colo foosball forum, (that is if there is colo foosball in 2050) and post a bitch complaint as to why the entry has never gone past 5 bucks in the last 70 years, that is if there is any players left in the next 35 years, much less pros and pro-masters...

i have preached about this baby sissy 5 clams for an entry for what we call a professional sport so long ago...

Well ok, here we are again...

I call "Bull Shit"... Its just an excuse....

I can riddle holes in your opinions.

Example, Your statement above, did that ever apply to you?

if the entry was 10 all this time, would you have quit the game?

come on now be honest Jim!
