Congrats Moose! What is that...3 titles in 4 years? Something like that? And this one as a goalie to show you can do it all. Just awesome.

Way to go Knapton too. You were playing super sick all weekend...hanging with the masters.

Congrats to Rusch...what a great run in Expert singles. All the brackets were stacked with high quality foosers. Love to see great people do well. I think Rusch wins the award for least amount of foos preparation for a strong performance in a big event. Haha...

Good job Deadbar....

And Garrett for almost doubling in Open too...and now we can claim Cindy. She's so badass.

And of course Ryan Moore for just deciding to switch from a pull to roller in the middle of the tourney and rape everyone with that shot too.

It really did feel like a major in there. There were a lot of strong foosers in there who didn't win a title, but still pulled out some good runs and wins. Dustin you were a stud in there, knocking off all kinds of strong pros and masters. That was the first time I ever watched your game and thought "wow...strong expert/pro playing". You're mental toughness is unmatched...lots of good comebacks.

Thanks to everyone who was a part of the crew running this. It really does mean a lot that you guys can sacrifice a part of your own foosball weekend to ensure everyone else there has a blast.

Didn't catch any OM. Did Cindy play front for Garret?

Thank you to everyone involved for such an amazing, well-run event. Total class act. On a national level, people are obviously realizing what a terrific tournament this is. My one concern was this: during the KOTR final, there was a hold on all other tables. I would like the other matches to continue during the KOTR final. Or at least give people the option of playing matches.

Yeah, that was pretty ridiculous...especially after the same thing last year. I would have thought that would be a change for sure this year. I see the reason behind the KOTR finals, but when you are having people waiting in excess of 8 hours to play a match, and finishing up finals at 5am...you really need to look at ways to trim the fat on time, and taking 45 minutes for that would be a nice first step.

I thought things ran good, except Friday. From 12:30am on, there were over 10 tables on average that I counted matches not being played on for the rest of the night. I understand the computer said only 4 matches could be played, but I don't get it - not with that many players in that many events. I went home at 2am, looked at the charts, and there were still a lot of matches lined up. And then at 10am Saturday, all tables were booked solid when things started up. Something just didn't add up. I don't know how things work, but common sense said you can't have 10 - 15 open tables with events in full swing with 100+ teams.

Other than that...it's foosball, you're going to get waits. Especially if you only play a couple of events, or don't do well.

My suggestion to the software would be to make a window that shows players' longest wait times. When you have someone sitting 2+ hours...or 3...or 4...you really need to get that player in a match. You can't have players sitting 8 hours. Not with the technology now to fix that. That will make or break a player's weekend, and desire to attend the next year. How many players just bailed all together because of waiting...or didn't play because of waits...lots. Again, just a suggestion....hope no one takes that the wrong way.

*disclaimer*

That delay did help Nick win Rookie Singles.

Nothing helped X, the new ruler of 33-48.

All kidding aside, the waiting and delays with not knowing when your events and matches really are going to start or finish for that matter, does influence one's choice to play in any tour event. It definitely is foosball and this event was definitely done very well considering. Great job and big congrats to all involved in running it! Well done! I enjoyed being a fan!

Lol...yeah, I would've benefitted from a delay during the dubs final, too! I'll probably skip the DYP next year if I buy another package deal. I will definitely skip the pro/am since it's a low-priority event that runs into the wee hours. But again, it was a terrific weekend, and I enjoyed seeing people like Corpse, who I see once a year.

I don't think this was a big factor in the finish times we were already stopped for the HOF ceremony so it was really just the match time that delayed anything. I understand this is something obvious people can point at and say it was a certain amount of delay, but there are several other items we can tighten up and still be able to keep this kind of main event focus. Thanks for the feedback.

X, I completely agree with the wait time comments. Hopefully lines of communication might open up to help get the software updated. Saturday night when we had to focus on specific events we tried to make announcements so players at least knew they could take a break if they were not in specific events. With some schedule changes this could be mostly avoided.

On Friday night I think I understand the problem you describe. I won't go into details but I was aware of the issue and tried to do better the rest of the weekend. I tried to answer questions as people came up to the stage, next time feel free to come ask me at the time. I know I can be rude or grouchy at times but it isn't personal and I do really listen if people can have patience to let me deal with things one at a time when 12 people are there trying to talk to me.

I came to Colorado State this year because I wanted to make it the best run tournament around. Any issues people had with matches or waits were directly my failings and I want you to know I will try to do better if I am invited again next year. I think things went pretty good given the massive turnout and the incredible event that was put on by TSK/BB. Colorado is extremely luck to have them and all of the MANY people that help make this tournament happen.

I want to thank all of the people that made comments to me in person (complimentary and constructive). If people want to comment further about the match/event running you can PM or email me I don't want to see the thread get derailed or clogged with those.

I also need to say a special thanks to Sheri, Tommy and Tim. You are great promoters of the sport and it was an honor to work with you. Also thanks to Dana, John Lee, and Kristen Grogan for all of the work at the stage. Too many others to list specifically, but this was a special event for me and I thank everyone involved and the players that attended.

-Mike Sames

Sorry, but 45 minutes for a gimmicky singles event final is not worth it. Not to the players staying up until 5am Sunday, or the ones who are already waiting crazy amounts of time.

Like I said, I "get" it...but that finals doesn't hold the same excitement that something like Super Doubles does. More than half the room wasn't watching.

Loved that. Well, not personally, because I wasn't in OS, and didn't have a hotel room lol...so that just meant more couch time hanging with Rusch, but it was a good idea, and I did like that.

I thought you did great Mike. You and Dana both, especially the last day with recalls. In fact, I would have liked to have seen stricter recalls, despite all the ones you guys did. I was in the room 100% of the weekend and there were TONS of players who heard their name called and made no effort to get to their table. What are you supposed to do with that...no software is going to fix that, but you guys tried with the table monitor walking around. Next year, maybe have 2 or 3 of those monitors, going strong all weekend long, and I'll bet that trims up the fat A LOT.

Big Thanks to TSK/BB and their whole crew for all of their hard work! It won't be long before you all will have to have tournament tables upstairs in that room also!

Great Job to Mike Sames, Dana, Baller, Tommy, Sheri, and everyone else I saw on the stage all weekend!

I was very happy to see the great turnout, hope it was truly a successful tourney for TSK/Baller productions.

Highs/Lows and format ideas to come later.

You're a beginner. They only taught you to score to four.

How about The Law and Krause dipping for PD! CO can claim those two.

I didn't even see that.

They beat a smoking hot Knapton, Sprouse, Harvey, then dipped Walker...

That event was stacked. Nice work guys

Thanks TSK/BB and staff! Great job hosting one of the best tourneys there is (THE best IMO).

Lows:
-I'm with X on the 'too much downtime' during the KOTR. There's only so much time during the weekend and it'd be better to have some of the other finals be able to finish earlier and people would still be there to watch them.

Highs:
-Whooping some ass with Moose, Kristin and Dean O.
-Beating some Masters I had on my 'checklist'.
-IFP software for ease of registration and viewing brackets and such. (So much better than last years software for a big tourney IMO).
-Zeke's Foos Alert app even making it easier with the alerts.

Stoked we have such a great State here, and hope TSK/BB continue it for years to come.

One quick comment from me about the "waiting".

When you have sandbaggers playing in every event, they tend to clog up the brackets and hold everything and everyone else up. There were a handful of people that killed the tourney from running quicker due to going deep in every bracket. Then, there was a lot of issues with getting people to turn their results in. If we don't get results, we can't move forward.

Aside from that, I had a blast calling matches and just being there since I couldn't play.

Thanks to everyone who made the weekend possible. Colorado is the best!

Nice job to all who did well. (But stop clogging the brackets! Lol)

Love to you all.

One suggestion for things to run smoother is do a no conflict tourney like Texas State and Nebraska did this year. Seems to work out really well.

For those who did not attend, they would have 3 events start at the same time but you could only play in one. For instance, PS, AD and lets say WD all started at 1pm sat. If youre an AM or women, you have to choose what you want to play. Obviously, you pick theone you havethe best chance in. Keeps things to a minimum but everything runs much smoother that way.

Something to consider for next year. Especially if we have close to 300 people again.

Congrats to all the winners!
I can't imagine how hard it is to run a 300 player tourney!

Lows: Couldn't make it because of a last minute schedule conflict with work!
Highs: Watching the brackets and seeing such a great turnout with very strong players!
