Who is going into the HOF this year?

You gotta put Spear in...that's a no brainer this time. Who else? Scotty? Gus? Another old schooler?

In my humble opinion:

Tina Rhoton
Tom Spear

Should absolutely be inducted into the Colorado Hall of Fame this year.

I would like to mention that the list is long and distinguished for amazing players from all over Colorado.

Tom Spear
Todd Loffreddo
bob Gibson
Mark Rudnicki
Kevin Everson
Gil Jackson
Mark Taylor
Randy Hutson
Garett Scher-Can Block!!
Bob Maloney
Shelly Langley
Traci Brubaker
Rusell Dyerle
Rick Lucas
Gary Edgeworth
Grant Nelson
Stephen Steighner

and many more that are past and present.

I would like to mention all of these great players are from cities other than Denver.

Now, the City of Denver has two players that have done very well on some pretty Big stages in National events, World events, State events and on a local level.

Phil Washum
Roger Aamodt

Now I'm not trying to toot my own horn or put myself in any category, and I hope this is not seen as an attempt to do that.

Just a shout out to all of the DENVER players I've known over the years that have dissappeared and have come back to me over the years and said " you are still playing that silly game" Foosball, to which I reply, "yes".

I should have chose Tennis , or some other sport which I could have made Millions!.

But I didn't, and I may have learned from life and the people in Foosball just as valuable lessons on life, Myself and other human beings, as I would have learned in any other occupation or sport!

Foosball is just a game, but like anything in life it takes skill, mental ability, and most of all the will to put it all together.

I just watched a special about Franklin D. Roosevelt, by the way maybe the Greatest American ever. Lets just say it inspired me.

Anyway Colorado is a Great place to play Foosball!!!

God Bless Colorado!!

God Bless America!!!

and if I offended anyone giving a blessing to America through God.

so be it.

I believe Vicki is one of the many that Bowers taught how to play.

70's-80's.

Vicky, over,

Tina Rhoton(Wyatt)
Dianne Proctor
Kelly Keesee
Dawn Duquette-(Dawns Partner)-incredible Woman player. I saw Dawn and her partner go to meat nut in the early eighties against, Todd L and Tom S.

Is there a committee that decides the Inductees?

Or is this decided by one or two people, just curious.

Way back before there were organized tournaments there were Hundreds of players in and around the Metro area.

Two of the great players from around the Metro area that were from south Denver area were.

Pat Case
Ted Ingles

Or Ben Roundtree- who taught me and many others in the Denver area how to play Foosball.

Foosball halls like Funway freeway, Figaro's Pizza, Celebrity sports center.
These were where the Denver players all had there starts.

I guess it's more personal because I grew up Here in Denver, and Denver players always kind of get overlooked.

With the Likes of Todd Loffreddo and Tom Spear, Gil Jackson, Bob Gibson, Bob Maloney.

I totally respect these Colorado Native players!

Way before these Legends, there was Colorado Foosball throughout the Streets and back alleys and nameless basement tournaments. Mike Bowers just made the State of Colorado relevant to other States.

Foosball has always been relevant to the Natives here in Colorado.

I know extremely little about foosball history (or foosball), but I wonder if one of the induction requirements is the commitee's ability to reach the person, and get him/her to commit to appearing at the ceremony.

A committee was established last year to start the first annual Colorado Hall of Fame. The committee consisted of Bowers, Rusch, Mares, Todd, Walters, Tommy, and myself. The last years and the three inductees this year, with Loffredo also involved, were unanimously decided upon.
There will be official information in the 2014 Hall of Fame brochure as to the criteria for being inducted.

There will be a brief meeting at the HOF poker tournament this Saturday for anyone who has questions about the HOF and how you can get involved.

Please feel free to contact any of the above mentioned we will do our best to answer any question you may have.

Here is a good question... Why isn't Robbie in the national HOF yet... Pretty sure that dude has been smashing nerds at a top level for like 85 years. Just sayin...
