But I don't look at it like that because i'm going to stomp whatever weako team there is regardless of them getting drops because I trust my 5 and goalie D. It's still on us to block and score.

Kinda like football overtime rules - one team has to step up their defense, and the other team has to step up their offense. You just have to work more on your defense.

Also - if you go down 2 points to Roger/Bruce...and you get the drop...does that mean you're a weak team in need of a handicap? No. It's just a twist on the game.

This is tailor made for weaker teams to stay in the match, and also forces the stronger teams to stay focused and buckle down.

Maybe all of this crying is really because you can't quickshoot 1 for 20 on your 3 row anymore because you feel safe with a 3 point lead.

Thank you, Scott, for running things tomorrow. Every Friday is exciting for me, because it's my once-a-week chance to play foos against some badass players...and Gym too. I think you're right to warn us that the tourney will run on a tight schedule with enforced recalls. I laughed at the Tommie joke.
I can understand mixing things up occasionally...although we just did that last week. I think first time players should always get free entry, because they will never win, and they're paying quarters anyway.
My 2 main, unsolicited points are:

If you're going to come up with this idea one day in advance, maybe float it out there for the players' thoughts, votes, etc.

I think this format gives my team a better chance to cash...kinda like backpacking, but really most goalies are backpacks...But if I end up cashing, I can't really talk trash afterward...not much boasting. There will be an asterisk.

I was thinking the same thing. Have a tourney in which only clean goals count. But this would require a lot of honesty. And I think the tables would need to be on open play with a green fee.

No, i WAS originally going in to take over again, and take out Roger and BJ. Unfortunately, even though i strongly believe that the gay drop rule WOULDNT affect me from pistol whipping on the 5 again- this shit is so weak and reaching that it makes me feel sorry for you, and now i just want to pit up, give out participation ribbons, and enthusiastically compliment everyones game. in true, mediocre 2015 politically correct form.

My son scored 3 points in his hockey game on Tuesday- a nice hat trick- and the coach gave him the puck after the game was over, with "Great game Philip" written on it with a silver sharpie. After BC's this week, (in the spirit of BC's) I think i will make him take the writing off of it with alcohol and give it to the kid on his team that did the worst. How dare my son upstage that poor little guy.

Just ask how my 5-bar matched up against everybody last Friday including Boogie and Roger. I didn't ask for a handicap, I put in many hours on my table working on a 5-bar offense and defense. No bullshit easy way out!

It's handicapping the current losing team, not the players.

If you guys go down - you get the drop.
If the other team goes down - they get the drop.

It's not like 1 team has a set handicap all night long.

If Acuna slaps in 2 dirty hacks on you guys, you get to make up for it. There will be no coasting.

If you still can't win with this format, you really have no business wining the match.

And if you do win with this format...then you definitely showed you were the better team.
