I have no idea.

I just know when you have a big group of new players, and tour pros and masters come in and stomp them...eventually that fun time they were having isn't so fun anymore.

There's been a lot of those tourneys over the years. Some get pretty decent turnouts, and then you have one or two tour players find those locations, and hide it from everyone else. Then, slowly more people learn about it. And once the cats out of the bag...players go and just slaughter everyone, and those noobs are like "fuck this...not fun anymore"

I could be wrong. Maybe the 303 is the unicorn of foosball newbies that want to just hand over their money and play 1 match a night before booted off the tables.

Fuck man- my Taun taun died giving me a lift to the 7-11 one block away. Had to cut him open with a light saber and wear him back home like a first down jacket. 404 might have to kiss my ass. It is fucked up out there.

I can, without a doubt, tell you ALL that the player base at 404 (actually called "Brendan's Pub") does not give a licking 2 shits about WHO shows up and their experience level. All they care about is foosball. A few of my friends that were only "serious" players (or whatever you wanna call it) have been showing up consistently lately and they LOVE the fire and happiness this tourney reignites. All the lower level players there love learning from the great players and getting advice and seeing what foosball really can be. They are not the "beginners" they once were.. they have all put in the effort and want to be great. You can go to 404 any day of the week and find at least SOMEONE playing the tables there.

All we ask is:

- We understand the lighting situation isn't IDEAL... that comes with money coming into the bar on foos nights (don't be cheap if you want new lights/tables/men etc because those things are coming outta Dave Torrelli's pocket {and a few more} or if you have something to donate that would be very nice). :)
- Yes, there are "ONLY 2 tables" but its single elimination. Goes quickly.
-Please understand that a lot of these players don't know some of the weird OFFICIAL rules, but you can always stop a game and tell them what they did wrong. They really do want to learn and enjoy the competitive sportsmanship of the players that want to help grow the scene. This is their only place to play... without us they just simply don't KNOW they are doing something "wrong". Tell them. Nicely. They will respond and correct.
-Be a good sport. Some nights you may draw the beginingest beginner, but some nights you may draw Kane. Or Roger. Or Boogie. Dustin. CJ. Randy. ETC. If you all really want to help "grow the sport" then this is the opportunity to HELP without putting in a whole lot your own time and effort. Just help people continue to love to play, because these players REALLY do love to play the game. It isn't about who wins/loses etc. They just want to play and learn.
-If you don't want to help them learn and grow the sport, then really they probably don't want you there.
Bottom line: Just don't be a jerk bag and you'll always be welcomed and wanted into the sport that we all LOVE!

So ask yourself.... CAN you, WILL you, and do you WANT to help the sport? Everyone says so..... But if you truly want to help the sport again, go to 404. It doesn't matter what time, what day, there is usually SOMEONE there playing. Introduce yourselves.

On a side note.... A lot of you know by now that someone kicked Zack and me out of BC's. This doesn't mean we aren't around anymore, or that we "retired" blah blah blah. We are still around and still play regularly and always love people to come play with us. If you don't have my new phone number you can PM me or talk to Zack and we can always meet up and have sessions or impromptu tourneys. At Zacks, at yours, at a bar, wherever. Dont forget about us! :) haha

There is some exciting news on the horizon for the future of Monday and Tuesday night foosball tourneys.... I'll get back to you all later this week with the details. (I know we've all heard this before elsewhere, but this is coming and we would LOVE your support!)

How do we get you reinstated at BC's? Were you two being too loud at the table?

Some people might find Gym's negativity annoying. I find it entertaining.

Yup - a year without all the tour players going there because they were going to Americas.

It would be awesome if they keep playing...but from history, that's just not how things go. If they really love the game and wanted to get better, they'd start hitting BC's....but they aren't...so that right there should tell you something.

Please keep us updated on the new player attendance there!

I'm not trying to be negative, but just looking out for a potential group of new players.

So wait, you're selfishly admitting that you took players away from an existing Thursday tournament from people who work their tails off for Colorado Foos?
You're last statement isn't helping you.

We did have 4 players from 404 at BC'S last Friday and I think they had fun. Decent skills but rough around the edges and on the table. Good potential. One dude needs an attitude adjustment though. Seemed grumbly.

I attended both tourneys, America's and 404, for all of last year.
Lot of late nights.

I didn't promote 404 at America's. But I did promote America's at 404.
Slowly people found out about 404.
I was given crap for going to 404, which that's ok, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if it is wrong.

So bottom line in the undercurrent, America's was getting ready to close anyway, which probably only a select few knew.

So in a way it's totally fine that another venue was happening.
And not being openly advertised.
So the little late night Tournament that was so "terrible" is now a very big deal in the DENVER area anyway.
