That Might be true Dustin, I don't play Singles and havn't since I believe February or March. and Yes I have supported the 404 Club, not to make America's do badly. That has never been my intention.

But to support a Denver Tournament, Absolutely I will try to support that and it dosn't interfere with the doubles start time at Americas.

One starts at 7:30 and the other starts at 11:00-11:30.

the very few people who knew about this tournament did not alert anyone to this tournament, so that it would not disrupt a tournament that was already going on. Most people would not attend this tournament anyway because of the late night start.

I understand, but do those people only work on Thursday? I was just wondering why not another night. It really has been accepted as taboo to run another tourney locally on the same night another tourney has already been established locally.

I made that table my bitch when I won with Godzilla 3 weeks ago. Made a frickin' mountain into a mole hill. I even told Godzilla to pick whatever side was best for him cause I wasn't losing that night. He picked the elevated side. Suck it!

As I said before also, these are people who just decided one day at work, a group of them.
That they would decide to run a Foosball tourney. the table they had was an old tornado that could barely keep a ball steady on the table.

This turned into such a good turnout for the Bar that the bar owner decided to get a brand new Tornado, and then two New Tornado's.

These people were all coworkers who were stepping onto a new frontier(so to speak).

They had NO IDEA that there were any Existing Foosball Tournaments anywhere in Colorado. So they could have no idea that they might be messing with another tournament night.

None of these people were involved in tournaments, they were all coworkers. It slowly grew from there.

It's all good, Roger. What surprises me is people choosing to walk away from the level of competition at America's to play at 404.

So they can't switch the night then, now that people established in the local tourney scene, who know that there is a conflicting tourney on Thursday night, have been to their tourney? Just curious. I have heard about this tourney now from more than a handful of foosers who know about and have played at Americas.

I don't have the answer, to, can they change the night?. It's not my Tournament.

But most all of the people who play there are local Denver area players, and don't attend other Tournaments anyway.

Thursday is the day they started on, why change it?

Only 2,3 or 4 people that go to Americas even try to go to 404.

Cool, just trying to maintain integrity of the foos scene, even if it's only in my own mind.

If there were a tournament there any night other than Thursday or Friday, I'd probably be a regular.

I wish there was a Saturday night option up North like when the Golden Cue was going last. We don't really have a North Metro option that would be easier for our Northern and Boulder folk. It seemed like both Ecks on Friday and Golden Cue on Saturday were rocking at the time. 404 isn't that far North but could be a good Saturday option for a DYP that might help those locals along and give Northerners an option.

Never been to 404, but it sounds like they just want to do their own thing. No reason to open it up to sharks who are going to make the tourney not fun for them. The late start time works great. A few pros who go show them how it's meant to be played, but not too serious...

Seems like a great foos oasis for the casual players.

Nice work Rog teaching them the basics!

Are they playing "their own tourneys" for money? Are pro's, "sharks", taking that money?

Roger there has been a few tourneys in Denver over the last 13 years or so.

B-52's had singles & doubles every week 2001 era

Wynkoop had singles & doubles every week 2004 era

Jacksons had a DYP's and warm ups 2005 era

Little history for ya.

I think BC's should mix in DYP into the BYP format for people who don't have time or friends to find a partner before the tourney. Bring your partner if you want or just show up and draw your partner to play in the same bracket as the DYP power teams. It would add variety to the competition at the already best competition in the state.

That is correct Tim I forgot about those Tourneys which I did play all those Venues. Thanks for the memory Jog.

I guess I just like supporting Denver Venues.

Since you are on the Colorado Committee,Tim, What is with not putting Tina in the Colorado hall of fame this year?

I think adding Tina would be a great idea plus it evens out the inductees to 2 guys and 2 gals. Go for it committee! I didn't know Vicki back in my early years of foos but I definitely knew Gil, Tom, and Tina.

If you wait until next year though, Tina would be an awesome inductee along with Kevin Everson since they were a team in those early years as players and promoters, as well as Bob Gibson and Bob Maloney since they all developed into top players during that same time frame.

It's a win/win either way Roger if you look at it.
