We had some new players show up for warm-up / training in preparation of the Nike World Cup Table Soccer Tournament held 2 days later on Thursday Nite. I know Bill and Dave were 2 of them.
Can't speak much to the games I wasn't in. My 1st match was with Bill against Luis/Brian... We won the 1st game, then Luis shifted from pits to offense and wiped us out pretty handedly. Moved on to Wil / Dave and got wiped out. Sorry Bill.
I fared better with Riko, who carried the team in a number of games. Great playing, all night Riko !!! She pretty much single handedly beat Farid/Brand from the 2 rod the first time around (Amazing!!!). Unfortunately, we couldn't pull off the magic twice.
The 1st set of the championship went to 3rd game 4-4, but I couldn't make a pass through Farid's 5 Bar to get possession on my offensive rod. He came back with a nice steep brush-up pass and sealed it with a Euro-Toe Push shot. Second set proved to be easier for them.
