Let me know when you make this panel to rank local players because I am unbiased as fuck.

So we tout how big Colorado State is and now we refer to it as a local tourney? I'm not talking about the weekly locals. It's the same argument I had against Dustin playing rookies in Vegas after winning Amateur at Colorado State.
Dustin answer this, would you play AD at Colorado State if it was just for a trophy this year and no cash?

TSK and Baller, answer this, is Dustin allowed to play AD at State again this year even though he won it last year? Rambo too?

Sure, I'd play AD for no money as long as the entry is no money.

I won expert singles at the Tx State Warmup. Should I not be allowed to play it next year?

Tommy and Sheri bust their butts to put these tourneys on, and all you guys do is whine and nag. But seriously, what will the point cut-offs be?

You seriously are not going to compare a warm up tourney to our State tourney! Let's just belittle Colorado State even more.
Are we using IFP points only or are last year's Colorado State results going to be factored in somehow because I'm pretty sure they didn't go to IFP points at all?
What say ye?

What are you smoking??

Dustin playing rookies in Vegas is not even close to the same thing as him playing AM at CO State. The talent level and field is much bigger at the AM rank.

And you think Rambo should be bumped to Expert too (since he won AD, and placed higher in AS than Dustin)? He's a good goalie, but I don't think you are underestimating the skill and experience of the players in expert.

What players don't belong in this list:

Art Mariano, Mike Prieto, X, Baller, Moose, Lancaster, Garrick Wrenn, Knapton, Pimp, Princess, Rambo.

PS - You and Tim got 2nd in AD at Co State 2013! If you would have pulled out that win, do you really think you should be kicked up to expert??? And Gavin and Juan took 4th? Wow...super stacked brackets! lol

If Tim and I had won AD at State last year there's no way I would play AD this year. I would've already reached the pinnacle of AD at State and I would work on the next goal of Experts. What if Dustin wins again at State but doesn't tour so he stays an amateur in IFP points, does that mean he just gets to keep playing amateur at State forever? What are you smoking?!

I've won SP and expert a few times at CO state...do you think I should only be playing pro only?

What about Moose? Costello and EA won Nationals in Expert - should they both be pros?

We don't tour, or really train like we used to, so we're just content staying at the expert level. Sometimes we win, sometimes we don't. You can't just make a blanket rule to suit you.

I hear what you're saying. I'm sure Dustin is aiming for higher than AM titles, but that wouldn't make any AM title not worth winning. Winning gives a player experience and confidence to move up. No one should forgo that.

In table tennis, there are sanctioned tournaments around the country, run by local promoters. Beginners get a rating after their first tourney. From there, you earn or lose a specific number of points, depending on the points of your opponent, and whether you won or lost. It's completely objective, and a points guide is readily available so you can do the math yourself. Most players will claim they are underrated. I don't recall ever playing for money, just trophies and ribbons. The big shots would play open events for decent money. Entry fees were maybe $50.

Then why even bother having ranks at tourneys like Colorado State. Just have a lot of BYP's. None of this has anything to do with what suits me, I just think it is an issue within the current Foosball system that doesn't get addressed along with many other things. I've always thought that amateur shouldn't pay like it does and maybe even shouldn't pay at all but open should have more money and pay deeper and also pay for highest ranking lower level teams to give incentive to play.

I don't think it should pay either, or at least very much.

I like to think that ranks provide a pool of players that are somewhat similar in skill. For the most part, I think everyone is ranked properly. Every now and then, someone tours/trains their ass off and they should be bumped, but then they tour, and do well, and get bumped on their own.

The only player I think isn't ranked right is City (Too rusty). Maybe Christian. Everyone else I think is fine.

In IFP I'm and Am @ 1300
TSK had me at 1300, but 1299 was the Am cutoff last year at state.

I wouldn't have played Am last year even if they would have let me.

I'm not into clubbing baby seals.

Oh yeah damn, I forgot about the experts and pros who dropped to 1300 for some reason.

That was also the byproduct of a crazy reset. Not the norm.

What is a honest ranking for Brad?

My good buddy Say Say Sames, is designing a computer program for pt avg. In your own rank and vs higher ranks. Should work slicker than cat shit when he is finished.
