Some of you guys seem quite confident in your abilities. What I want to know is, who is the best player you've ever played against?

Also, who are the best regulars at your favorite venue?

For me it was this old-dude at a beach bar in the Caribbean. Despite the rust on the rods, he wasn't rusty. He easily carried his young-enough-to-be-his-daughter, giant-fake-tittied, never-played-foosball-in-her-life wife to victory. I was shocked by his pull shot and awed by her cleavage. Great night overall.

Best player ever for me – Spear. I only caught him coming out of his prime, but he was a machine. I don’t know if I will ever concede that other current masters are better than Spear, simply because Spear played EVERY tournament around, and won all of them.

Among the current regulars, it probably goes like this:

Top tier: Robbie, Ryan, Scotty, Garret

(big gap)

2nd tier: Boogie, Sticky, Kane, Rudnicki, Ross, Brubaker, Roger, Nail

(small gap)

3rd Tier: Moose, Pimp, Baller, Costello, X, Lancaster, Bart, Knapton, CJ, Glenn, Rick Reese, Cheez, Ditto

(smaller gap)

4th Tier: Dustin, Schrunk, Traci, Lopie, Davin, Jorge

But any tier below masters is quite capable of beating the others at any time.

Ex. - If a player from Tier 4 beat a player from Tier 3, it wouldn't surprise me at all. I wouldn't say anything because it happens a lot. If a player from Tier 4 beat a player from Tier 2, I'd consider it an upset and probably go out of my way to tell him good game...but it still isn't crazy shocking. All of our foosers are good players.

Also, any player practicing more than normal, or less, is going to move up or down the ladder.

Sorry if I left anyone out…this is just off the top of my head. I’m also not including backpacks.

Just my opinion!

Kruz- don't pay attention to any horseshit on this thread-

X broke it down pretty much with an actual map of the current player base here. That should be printed out and hung on the walls of local tourneys. Well done, well done....unbiasedness at its best.

Toughest player I've ever played against would have to be Tony Spredeman. I played him in open singles at Colo State last year and his singles game is so aggressive and complete that it will just leave you speechless.

Best regulars in my opinion (in doubles) would have to be Boogie, Kane, and Roger. None of the masters show up more than a couple times a year so you can't really consider them regulars. In singles, I'd have to go with Mark Brubaker and Cheez for their transitioning and being a threat to score from any rod at any time.

I totally agree. Great list! Off hand, I can't think of anyone missing here.

Everyone else not on this list (active players, that is) is an 1100 at best.

I'd love to see all the masters battle it out in their prime over the course of a year. I honestly have no clue who would win...Billy, Rico, Spear, Loffredo, Ryan, Tony, Terry Moore, Horton, etc

I just say Spear because during my 3 year "living foos" time, he played every tourney (let's say 3 a week, and all had 13+ teams), and he just won ALL the freaking time. You got to know his game so well, and vice versa...and he just made you feel like you could never make a mistake. He could choose to shoot a pull and win. A Roller and win. A pullkick left handed and win. He could go near wall passing or far wall and win. He could play with newbies and win BYPs (I'm not talking Nick newbie, I'm talking Attic Monday newbie). Complete and utter mastery of the game on every level.

I've played Tony a couple times, and the first time was pretty much like Dustin's. It was like "wtf is going on??" lol I would just like to see what it's like playing him on a regular basis...getting to see his game 3 or 4 times a week for years.

Come on Nick! Mario Mendoza was a Major Leaguer.

As far as comparing different time frames, you have to put said player in the same time frame with all the same conditions. Wormhole Fred to Loffredo time frame using a pull and vice versa. Loffredo would be using a front toe and would have started playing even younger, with better instruction and training. As is, Fred can't touch Loffredo in career value.
