Props to a huge turnout from NYC!!! Everyone did great, I think we all stuck by and watched each other in the pits. Thanks to Jefferson for the shirts, so cool!!!
Props to Chris Brand for dominating Beginner Singles.... (a beginner no more), and doubles with Teddy. To Danny for runner up Beginner Singles and Jeff/Tom for taking 2nd in doubles. Time to start preparing for Rookies guys.
Props to Allan/ Jerry in the finals of Am Doubles. What a tough final. Allan/Jerry had the first dip, but I couldn't watch the rest. I was in tears. But Sam DiJohn is no joke. 10 years old and he's winning Amateur Doubles. Good thing I'm not an expert any more. Someone mentioned Sam is the youngest player ever to win Am Doubles at a big event. This kid is going to be the next great one if he keeps this up.
Props to Ellen... jeez, she did well all over the place. Good blocking, good passing, good scoring. Good playing.
I will mention Expert Doubles finals was disaster. I can't even describe how embarrassing it was to watch the finals. The end.
For me, the entire weekend was a complete struggle. I had to reinvent my game a few times over just to try to be competitive. My advice, always have a back up plan, nothing ever goes the way you want. Adjust and work with what you have, work with what's working.
Thanks to Chun, Ray and the gang for running MD States. Thanks to all my partners for dealing with my issues both physical and mental.
Good times. I now have a bunch of things I know I need to work on.

Appreciate being a part of your write up, Vic. You played amazing esp. with your injury - congrats to pro (again?) Ditto on the sick shirts from Jeff, cant wait to rep at worlds.
I just wanted to stop by to drop some serious propz to the NYC promoters and the whole NYC community - we've always had good coverage at MD states but I was blown away by the sheer volume this year. Maybe we can finally upstage Florida at the next one :P So proud to be a part of this team!
See yall next week maybe ;) |

Good point Ellen. NYC had excellent results in most doubles events and everybody is only getting better now. Here are some pics http://nycfoosball.com/p...s/#set=72157698153291641First few are mine, then the rest are from Ilya. Also reminds me, props to Jeff/Tom for taking game 1 from Blake/Todd in Open Doubles. That was incredible. They rolled right over us 3 straight.
