Props to Sean / Rob for winning handicap doubles. I've never seen an Expert Team win before. Beating Tony 7 to his 9 usually means it's in his favor. Nice work guys.

Also props to

3rd Handicapped DYP - Teddy/Ludi
3rd Expert Mixed - Ellen/Aaron
3/4 Beginner Singles - Mateo/Kevin Weadock
5/6 Open Doubles - Sean/Dawa (sick!!!)
2nd Womens Doubles - Maryam / Kitty
3rd Womens Doubles - Ellen / Dusty
3rd Expert Doubles - Victor / Rob
5/6th Expert Doubles - Allen Heard / Jerry
3/4 Beginners Doubles - Mateo / Danny (trophy!)
4 Pro Doubles - Sean / Bobby
5/6 Pro Doubles - Chris / Victor
2nd Womens Open Singles - Ellen
1st Handicapped - Sean / Rob
4th Hanicapped - Allen / Jerry

What great results for NYC. Super proud of everyone. Hopefully this solidifies Seans status as "SlaughterHouse". The scary part is I know Sean can still play a lot better than he played this weekend.

I felt a little more prepared this time for MD, moreso than the last few Marylands. I know I could have been better prepared.

Apologizes to my partners Rob, Chris and Dawa. I had to leave while still in all my events. Experts Doubles we were in the losers side but I was feeling confident about our chances and Rob was still fighting hard. Pro Doubles we were still in the winners side and leaving was tough, especially after getting revenge on Biggie. In handicapped Dawa and I were in the losers but I was feeling good, and Dawa is just zen.

Thanks to Joseph Fish for playing with me in Open Doubles. We finished in the money (9/12th) which is something I haven't done in years. We beat all the teams we were supposed to (sometimes barely) and barely lost to the teams we were supposed to lose to. Joseph was always upbeat and played whatever position I threw him in. He made some clutch shots and was defensively really strong. Our match against Todd/Kristen went 5th game 5-3. But Joseph had Todd shooting his pull like I've never seen before. That's the fastest I've ever seen a pull shot hit. It was incredible. Then we lost Foud/Bill Haydon, I was missing from that match. I don't think I completed a single pass and it still went 4/5, 4/5, 4/5. I know we could have done better.

Open Mixed with Jen. That was terrible. I literally had 40 shots to win our match against the Shadmans. So sad. Good blocking Kitty. She does that sometimes. I guess it was her turn. :)

My stick lane was on most of the weekend and my long was consistent once I was warmed up. I learned some new tricks with Ilya's help, which will definitely help me in the long run. I've been working on my 5bar defense and it definitely showed. It made a huge difference in big matches.

Thanks to Chun, Kristin and the crew for throwing the tournament. I thought whatever number they had was perfect. No long waits. Seemed like I was consistently and constantly playing. I had issues with some of the tables, but surprisingly I didn't let it get to me.

Still recovering.

Thanks for taking pics Teddy

The text messaging for events was awesome. They should have done that years ago. I wonder if that helped speed things up.

Also I won the NYS state package and a Foos Light from the raffle, just as a reminder to myself. I have no idea when NYS is though.

Thanks to everybody in the truck on the ride home. It felt like a 20 minute drive home.
