Hello Fellow Foosers!

Many of us have been wanting a Foosball league for some time. The time is now.

I am taking on the task of starting our own Foosball league. Not a tournament, but rather teams that compete more like the NFL. With weekly team match-ups and playoffs.

We already have one sponsor and have a few venues lined up.

There a few open spots on the Competition Committee and the board of directors. Please let me know if you would like to volunteer for the spot.

Also, we are looking for Team Leaders. Assemble your own Team (of 4)! No ALL PRO teams allowed.

PM me for more information. If you have a general question, ask it publicly and I will answer it in the same.

So when will this start? What kind of format? What about alternates for us people who are on call for work? It sounds good but how will it work?

Thanks for your questions.

* Start Date (undetermined) In theory we can start it in a few weeks with enough interest from players. But I imagine it will start sometime around football season.

*Format; two doubles matches and singles showdown if there is a tie on the two doubles match. For a team of 4, each player will play in a doubles match. Team leaders will choose the match ups. Team A has player 1 and 3, and Team B has 2 & 4. If both teams win a doubles match, it goes down to singles match ups. If there is still a need of a tie breaker we can have another doubles match, each team fields its best doubles team.

* Also, there will be at least 2 singles style tournaments through the season, 1st so we can rank players in the league, 2nd so we can track player improvement.

* Teams will need at least one alternate, with our network we should be able to find fill ins, so long as the ranking is fair and were not substituting a rookie for a pro. Some people wont join a team full out because of their schedule, but might be interested in being an alternate.

*There are alot of variables that need to be tweeked to make it work. Id like to find a couple of people out there to add opinions and be a part of the whole process. ie Board of Directors, competition committee. I can handle finding venues and sponsors.

Thanks again todoubled73, let me know if I missed anything or if you have other questions.!

Uh...who are you?

That's kinda important.

I filled out my profile on the website, but my name is Trevor. I play in some of the local tournaments occasionally and we have probably meet. And I'm sorry if you were bothered that I didn't post my name immediately, I try to avoid posting my personal bio online.

Also, I do not want the league to interfere with any of the local tourneys. Supporting the local tourneys is paramount imo. Hopefully we can grow the player base and develop new talent.

I'm not bothered at all. I think it's great you're wanting to help grow the sport. That's a goal we all want. Players just need to know who they are trusting their time with. In this case, it's a new player who plays "occasionally."

Good luck getting things going - I think it may be hard getting a lot of players to commit to a league in various venues, with someone who hasn't even really invested a lot of time into the game...but that's just me.

Hope you keep coming out!

I don't think I've met u yet Trevor but I'm just a rook so I'm down for some foos. I'm interested. Just my work is all over the place so I'm interested but unfortunately not dedicated. I'm down though. Bar hackers sounds like a good team for me to join

I'm interested ... but there are most certainly some details that need to be ironed out ahead of time.

Where are locations?

What tables will you play on?

What are entry fees?

Tables on free play or quarters per play?

Under 21 players allowed?

Under 18 players allowed?

Are points per location the idea ... with a "invitational" type deal at end of season?

I'm very interested in this, as I've been tossing around a very similar idea with everyone. I will tell you there is def. interest out there amongst the ranks, but CO foosers are very spoiled in that we've had some of the best tourneys and TD's known to man ... shout out TSK, Baller, X, Knapton, Davin

I like your thinking, Trevor. History seems to back a law of diminishing returns when it comes to co foos though. To avoid saturation, maybe focus on events for beginners, with more experienced players showing up to offer advice.
The reality is, better players are willing to offer help every Friday at bonfire, especially after the tourney. Newbies to make a minimal effort to seek out the most friendly and helpful tutors.

i like this idea. Foosball Teams that can play throughout the nfl seasons schedule against each other.

1. Teams would need set number of players and specific ranks filled.

2. This could be like private fantasy football someone will keep the money or we can set up an online thing for it

3. Draft up a schedule then meet that team at a bar you choose that week and can predetermine each week

4. Could keep track of total points scored as well as wins

5. The double single double single thing is cool kinda like NAC

Dont shoot trevor down because nobody knows him he came to a place where people might be interested in this fun twist on foosball and get together for some good foos and fun with some bounty to be won.

Teams of 4? rook, am, expert, pro (only one pro and expert but can have a team of all rooks if wanted or 3 ams 1 rook, 2 experts 1 am 1 rook) you get the idea

lol - do you know how many unknown/new players have come on here wanting to reinvent the wheel with this scene? and then they disappear after a few months

One word:

JayRoller! Holla!

lol he was awesome.

Every one who runs tourneys (or even just plays regularly) has a DEEP passion for this game. We've put in years (and decades) into this sport. It's why we can be trusted to keep things going when we're not in the mood to spend all night at the bar.

I'm not downing anyone, I'm just saying establishing foosball tourneys and leagues is a HUGE commitment. I've never seen it done by anyone who didn't first put in the time to get good at the game.

Unless you count cassi at the 303 lol...but I think she worked there, so that doesn't count.

Thats fair and I can understand that. But if just enough of us DEEPLY committed to the game want in on this say even 4-6 teams preferably 8 could be alot of fun and we could even meet for the matches at someones house if we so choose.

I have played in many tournaments dating as late as 2005, my first tournament I ever went to was at Table Stakes off of I225 and Parker. My partner was Ditto. He wasn't too happy to draw me at the time.

I played at Americas a dozen times, right before they got shut down. (thanks for the awesome table Sherri!)

I played at 303, until they got shut down.

I played at BC's 2 or 3 times, but my partner was sick of getting his but kicked and wouldn't come again.

Been to Balloon Inn a hand full of times.

Been to Bonfire only once.

Id go every day/week if I could, but these establishment are not child friendly, and like other players, family comes first.

Starting something up like this is expected to be hard, I am up for the task. I do also hope that some other foosers out there might be interested in helping out.

Ditto's cool but he isn't always receptive in a sunny delightful manner the first time to a newb he draws. He'll always help you with foos advice, especially if you provide liquid libations!

You're welcome for the table Trevor.

Jim Stevens has a foosball club established in Durango called the Durango Dragons. We've talked several times about getting clubs going across Colorado. Unfortunately, I haven't found the time to promote and get it going.

If you're interested in talking to Jim and using their blueprint, I would be willing to help you try to start Colorado foos clubs.

First, let me apologize to Ditto. He wasn't rude to me at all. Rather I never understood how good the competition was at the tournaments and he didn't stand a chance with me in the pits. But I will say, he gave me pointers tips and compliments. If it wasn't for him, I may never have returned to the scene. Since, I have seen him at a few tournaments and he is always friendly. Sorry for badmouthing you Ditto.

Sherri, thank you for interest and offer to help. I will PM you soon:)
