Turnouts have been rockin' lately - 16, 16, 17 teams the past 3 weeks.

There might be some foosers hitting NE this weekend I think, but that just makes it easier for the scrubs to cash.

Signups close at 8:30
Double beginner teams play free
Recalls enforced
Refs available

I printed up a copy of the rules for us...we all should get better at learning them.

I'm sensing more than normal weakness added to my game tonight.

I guess I'll sign you and Nick up together then?

I have been thinking about this for a long time ...

There have been some good turnouts lately and we all like to think Ecks/BC’s/Bonfire is one of the best tourney’s in the country, but sad truth is that on any given night, most of the best talent in the state is not even there. Other than when Ryan shows up, you can’t deny that for each player at the tourney, there is at least two or in most cases 3 or more other foosers around the state who are as good or better than that player. In other words, whoever the best player is there tonight, there is probably 2 or 3 other players as good or better than him that is not even there, whoever is second best there is at least another 2 or 3 more players that are as good or better than him/her, and on down the list.

Point is, we should talk about having a monthly or quarterly tournament, maybe on a Saturday or Sunday with some more time to work with, so we can test ourselves against more than just 20-30% of the top 100 players in the state. I hope it is a good one tonight.

Wait, wouldn't second best at Bonfire have at least 3 to 4 better, and third best have at least 4 to 5 better, and so on, and so on......:)

The chance of having their worst ever off day and losing to Nick has scared off most of the top players. It's still highly unlikely but nobody wants to be the first.

Yes, it's definitely true that the top CO talent does not come out much anymore (Sticky, Robbie, Scotty, Rippin, Piper, etc...). We're still thankful that players like Kane, Pimp, Ryan, and Garrett make the drive up to play now and then.

That said - this tourney is crazy packed with with players who are constantly playing against each other...knowing the ins and outs of each other's game...forcing each other to adapt and be smarter. Just last week Brubaker and Sherm beat up on Kane and Costello (the winner's side match was over in like...2 minutes), and Kane just finished having a ridiculous worlds. Like...top 5 in all open events.

There is no single player in CO, other than Ryan or Robbie maybe, who could come to this BYP and dominate it for more than a couple weeks in a row. And honestly, if Ryan and Robbie came out all the time, we'd all start to get a read on their game, and upset them a few times more. A lot of the players here are still good enough to beat anyone, anytime.

The strength of our tourney is that we all know each other's games, have scouting reports on everyone, etc. If the <average players that did play there bothered to really study and train seriously...it would be even better.

That said - for the love of crap, please figure out the flooring there, Baller. lol

Hey Scott thanks for even having my name on that list lol, I agree with the statement of if we played the PM's more we lower rates players could begin to get upsets more often. Remember Americas Singles Where Dustin and Jedi both beat Robby in a weekly tourney. Where's Boogie been? Sticky?

Thanks X!

I would like to congratulate Nick on his first win playing forward at Ecks,BC's, and Bonfire. I was proud to be your goalie. Great job my friend. I'm sorry if I got snippy at times fellow foosers. I just wanted to see Nick play a tourney as a true forward and just trust his stuff and it was awesome to have him do that for most of the night after a rough start. Honestly, there were times when I needed to be carried. I want this guy to have the best chance at winning AD at State. Hats off to you, you're on your way.
Sherm was killing me with his second chance shots. Thank you foos gods for the love in that match. I will sacrifice a chicken, Ross, later today! :-)
Shout out to Zach too for some stellar forward play!

We were definitely outplayed in losing our first match, to Trout and Zack P, whose pull is really getting nasty. But we improved after that, and got our revenge on them later. By the end of the night, Gym's blocking was unbelievable.
