What grit sandpaper is used for this? I don't have long left on the balls in my table at home. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Bart brought in an ingenious contraption:
A thick plank of wood, maybe a ten-inch square, with a large circle cut into the top of it. Nestled in there was circular sandpaper, and you toss a rack of balls into the circle. Then, he had a drill with a circular sandpaper attachment, and faced that on top of the bunch of balls. Seemed like he ran the drill for maybe 30 seconds, and wham-o...refurbished balls. They didn't seem any smaller to me, and the finish was nice and even. I was guessing the grit was 80, but Bart was guessing 60.
Every fooser should have this in the garage. I'm thinking about the logistics of making this myself, but a bit stumped on how to cut out the circle on the wood.

Awww...sheet...it must be two planks of wood glued or screwed one on top of the other, with the circle cut out of the top one. I can do this!

I get the concept of what you guys are explaining and whoever asked how to cut the hole I'm assuming it's a jigsaw. From what has been explained (without seeing it) I'm guessing you start out with 2 square boards the same size and cut a large circular hole in one of them. Then mount the sandpaper (thick steardy red sandpaper to last) to the uncut board with spray adhesive，cut sandpaper and glue it to the sidewalls of the circle cut into the other board and then mount the cut board onto the sandpaper side of the uncut board， I get the concept but I have some questions:
1 - How deep was the circle? Was it a little over half as deep as a ball or (forgive the pun) was it balls deep...lol
2 - Was there sandpaper on the side of the circle?
3 - The Drill attachment，was it a typical sanding disk used in a body shop or was it something round and flat mounted to a drill bit?
4 - Was the drill attachment noticeable smaller than the circle hole in the board or about the same size?
