Cruisers Bar in Greeley
Dyp

1st Ted Herrera/Todd Huggins
2nd Jedi/Johnny Cervantes
3rd Eric Babbitt/Doug
4th Eric Howe/Bill Graham
5th Greg Ronkainen/David "Big D" Lorenzo

When I decided to do this tournament it wasn't a north vs south thing. I live in Thornton and I work in Greeley as a matter of fact I'm originally from Mississippi. I put this tournament on because I had been to this bar and they have a foosball table and a bunch of guys who like to play.

The one problem I've noticed with current foosball is the absence of enough new blood. I've seen that addressed in forums and interviews on youtube as far back as the 2000s. The arcade Era died out. No longer strong avenues for new young players to be intoduced to the sport.

A good example is my daughter. I decided after a 20 year hiatus and a month of practice I would go to colorado state this year. My daughter wanted to come and watch. So luckily she got introduced to foosball. Guess what? She absolutely loves it. At state, not knowing one single person there, we met a long list of great players who actually took time to acknowledge us bottom feeders of foosball. Todd Loffredo and Ryan Moore were the 2 biggest names but a list too long to mention were more than helpful and nice to her. Unfortunately state only comes once a year.

Well last night at the tournament was that guy. He hasn't been playing long and had never seen players actually playing competitive foosball. We drew partners and he got Greg. David came up to me and was worried because he wasn't good enough to play. Everyone at the tournament was helpful and encouraging to him. At the end of the night he was having a great time. He wanted to know how to get better. I told him practice practice and more practice. I told him about youtube tutorials and he was very excited. He was taking selfies with the players and just soaking it all in. Says he is gonna be practicing and getting in tournaments in the future.

So 5 teams dyp but I really feel it was a success.

Special props to Jedi. He went out of his way to help with this tournament. We literally spent 2 hours getting the table as ready as we could. His love for the sport can only be equaled.

To all the players thanks for showing up and providing a fun atmosphere. We will do this again soon

Good job, and congrats! There were some noobs at the bonfire last night, and they stayed late for foos school. I noticed Mark B and others giving tips.

I will say that the sharing of knowledge and overall atmosphere surrounding foosball is by far exceptional here in Colorado. I was welcomed with open arms at state this year then Fooser X at bonfire Schrunk and Brubaker at balloon inn and met Jedi last week. All the guys from Nate, roger, boogie, juan, trout, I mean all the foosers out there are great. Makes me realize what an idiot I am for dropping out the scene for 20 years. Thanks to all who have extended above and beyond to make me feel welcome in my return to foosball.

Now it's time for serious practice to make everyone regret it. Lmao jk. No seriously I'm coming

Doug I have been wanting to get in this for a while. I live in thornton but work in Greeley in the oilfield. So for one I work crazy hours and long hours. So getting home in time is tough. Two is I have to get up early so that's a double whammy. With that being said don't be surprised when I finally show up. Cause I will
