I guess it's more about obligations, logistics, and contracts with vendors on a national scale.

Well, from an outsider, lover of Foos and one of those "sponges of knowledge" you referred to;
I DID come to play with y'all at BC's a few weeks ago and when I got home, I told the wife that if THAT is what the "Good" Foosball players are like, I don't want to be a "Good" player.
I have been playing foos since 1976, granted, I'm not "one of you good guys", but I love the game and MOST of the foos players.
YOUR Denver scene ....... well, not for me. And with that, all those I come in contact with get the same story.
I would hope that I was there on one of y'alls "bad" day. If not, then some "back-to-basic concern for your fellow player" needs to be relearned ... cause somewhere it was lost. The most impressive Foosball players I have ever met ... were the ones that love the game and want to teach ... not the "Super bad-ass kicker" that some of you think you are.
Just giving y'all an outsider opinion. I don't know any of you personally .. so I can't be addressing this to any one individual ....... but, we didn't come back.... did we?
We like our group in Pueblo ... ok .. so we aren't Pro-masters .... but we have FUN!!!!!!
I'll see you at State.

Who is this? Did someone give you an attitude? Did you ask a question and get the cold shoulder? Several of us do reach out to the new players. Also, new teams get free entry.

No, not really, it was the overall attitude of the players. The TD was more than helpful and very informative. The feeling I got was more of a "go back and get better before you try and play here" attitude. Granted, I'm not super-bad, but we (the non-pro players) can never get better if we don't play anyone better. I guess, since we are not high ranked, we accept all new players with positive attitudes in Pueblo.
And ... Who is this? MY name is Joseph Watts. I live in Avondale and play in Pueblo.
Did I ask questions? Yes ..
Did I get the cold shoulder ... Yes.
Did "someone" give me an attitude ... not individually, but as a whole. ... and no, I do not feel that I was accepted.
Entry fee ... ?? who cares? I understand .. that you pay to play, I have no issues with that. It cost me more in time and gas to get to Denver to meet some of you "Greats" than any entry fee .... to me that point is moot.
I actually spoke with the TD to find some players to play privately ..... still waiting on that .... I have my own T-3000 and I'm sure all you "Greats" do too ..... So I am more than wanting to be taught some things ...Through my years I have found that the good foosers are always willing to teach and nurturer lesser ranked players, but that didn't seem to be the case.

Now, I do want to clarify .... I am not complaining ... I was told to get on this forum and check it out ... I did.
I was asked to give my opinion ... I did.
I am not attacking anyone ... just giving y'all an outsider opinion.
So, will YOU use this to better things ... Don't know.
But, if this is how I felt after 1 visit ... and I can handle more than most.(I hauled Jake Drumond's drunk ass home in my car for 2 hours!!) just think of others that might have arrived .. or stayed ... if they went through similar situations.
NOTHING BAD HAPPENED WHEN I WAS THERE.
Just the overall attitude toward newbies.... that's all.
Foosball should be enjoyable, except for those that make a living at it (their choice) and the setting at BC's was not ... at lease for myself.

Whew, I'm glad I wasn't at this tourney, you definitely would've hated me.
Don't take anything personal, we all hate Jake Drummond! Foosers might've been offended that you brought him up to us!
Hey, all kidding aside, let us know when you're in the hood again. I would look forward to meeting you and definitely let us know if you are traveling this far to play some foos without a partner. I don't let anybody travel that far to not get to play in the tourney.
Welcome to the family!

Disclaimer alert:
None of what I said holds if you move to Avon.

Thanks Jim.
And yea ... my bad.... I'm new, don't even know Jake or Andy.... but they asked to come, so as a fellow fooser ... I brought em'
Believe ME ... IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN!!!! :)
My wife told me the same thing.
Hopefully, we will meet up soon ... after State and things calm back down, we should meet up. I love the ol' saying ... "My table~or Yours???"

I'm Nick. I will gladly teach you how to be as good as me...a lower-level amateur. See you at State!

I'll look forward to meeting you Joe. I'll see you at State but if you need to get some work in before then and want to make the trip up for a Friday tourney at the new locale, Bonfire Bar and Grill, I'll play the tourney with you. Just post early cause I usually try to arrange partners early. The third Friday of each month is my only set in stone partner going on now.

Jim, sounds like a good idea! I'll discuss with the lovely wife and see if Friday is do-able. I am off Saturday so it should be a go. I'll bring her.
My number is 618-975-6930. text or call. (I know it's an Illinois number... works fine here in CO... had it for many years) I am at work now, get home about 4:30pm .. but I have almost the entire Pueblo gang coming to my house tonight. So talking will be tough... lol
What time do you want me to show up in Denver??

Joe,
We've got a great scene in Avon (might be too far for ya), but we've almost always got a new player at our scene. We play tourney on Tuesdays at 8p and pick ups on Friday at Happy Hour. Games are just 75 cents and the last Tuesday of every month is BYP!
We love this game and we're always teaching and trying to grow our scene! First timers to the tourney play free and after that its just $5/person.
Feel free to shoot me a message if you think you'll make it up some time 970.471.0842.
