I love this idea, this would give a TON of local players more incentive to show up regularly.

Would it be just at Americas? or make it a Boulder/BC's/Americas thing?

Either way, I would love worlds to be payed for if I won it... I would also happily contribute $2 a week to a CO foos badass to go on tour when they otherwise might not be able to swing it.

So how do the points work?

At the end of the race, a DYP and singles tourney is held, and the only way you can play is to have pre-qualified with enough points? Is there a set amount of points that get you into the final DYP and singles? 20? 30?

What if everyone just got 1 point for attendance, and that was it? Then everyone would have an equal chance.

I think it's a sweet idea, but I'm an expert who has a decent shot at winning. It's a good investment. If I was an AM or below...not sure I would like funding someone else's trip to worlds.

Also, it might be nice to be able to pick your tour event. Maybe Bart O or TX State would be better and cheaper to hit. Ending it 2 weeks before worlds doesn't allow a lot of time to book a cheap flight either.

Just my thoughts, but I'm not 100% clear on how it works. Wish I lived close to there, and didn't have class...if it were at BC's I'd definitely be all in.

The only disadvantage for some players, having the points race in three locations. Is that there are some that cant go to Boulder on a Tuesday or Friday at BCs because its a BYP, and its not easy to always have a P' on a weekly steady run. Now if BC ran a singles event, then it would be 2/3rd's balanced.

And Davin would have to make adjustments adding a singles event to balance out the 3 mentioned locations. Some players are more geared and stronger in a singles format, like myself. And all there is is America's to battle singles at this time. I can only make it to two locations, so that cuts me out from earning points at the Attic when I could place for = points across the board in three locations. Besides my busiest business days are Mon-Tuesdays. So thus, America's offers double's and singles so that location would be my hot spot for
my point's

Now I approve this idea, but two of the locations are not equally balanced out
in the S/D events department to make this work with equal opportunity for most players. There are players out there that have the game to be in the results three times a week if they can hit the three locations every week. Sure feel sorry for Mark Kraus, Pimp, Rippin, etc, etc,myself included.

Since this is a singular objective point race designed for the one top point winner. Then we need at least one more singles event somewhere. "That simple" Because if most players can only play doubles to earn points, then that causes conflict of interest among players down the line battling for over all points. Example) if I and Sticky drew eachother 8 times out of 12 weeks, and lets say we finished 1st in 5 played events, 2nd in the remaining 3 cumulative weeks. We would have the same equal points. I helped him with his and he helped with mine. and just for the sake of argument, the other 4 weeks that we played we just didn't fair so well. But here is Sticky and jedi tied at 37 points each.
This is where it gets down to the nitty gritty. I or Sticky would have to play the getting out more to play card, just to acquire more added points than the other player, that we both were responsible for the points we gave eachother throughout the weeks. Now it becomes a strategical plan to hit a location were the other player cant make, to get a lead on the other top players points. Now its not about whos the better player that rightfully earns being the top point winner. It becomes then a matter of hitting more tournament nites.

Now lets consider our Colorado's warm up events, like the CIVIL WAR event in Febuary... RACE POINTS SHOULD ABSOBITCHINLUTELY BE APPLIED!

And what about Bob's location?. Are there any Expert players that play there?. Do any of them have the skilled game to compete with the favored Top 10 players that have the force to take home a tour ticket? I say this because ive never recalled but just a few named players among maybe two dozen players that have battled at Americas and BCs when I was there. So im left to assume that the general level of rank would be Amateur down to beginner. In fact if im right, a player that plays at Bob's recently won a SINGLES TITLE.
So I would assume that hes been putting the table time in playing singles, to be
able to win a state title. Yeah" wraps off, Hands down to you.

Now im not sure if there's singles events there, but Bob's location needs to have both S/D events on their nite. If they do already id be more inclined to hit that arena during the weekly rotation of hitting 3nites a week.. Wed-Thur-Fri...

So after weighing the ins and outs with how everything is now as far as location events. It would cost me roughly 240.00 a week three days straight to establish a good starting foundation of hitting the bell in top points.

So again, without more singles events across the board. Then this would be more about who can get out more to play, than about who is the better player at the table in their field of rank.

But what I really think is grand about this POINTS RACE is that every ranked player in their leveled rank has an opportunity to rub one out for a tour ticket.

It sure would be nice as Hot Flaming Heat to have the "Who's Hot" results up and running with black and white logged in accountable filed results..

It is a great way to get players out. Its also a great motivation to practice show up and try to win one of 4 or 5 money slots.


Count me in. I've been saving my winnings since state to put towards the next tour stop I can afford. I'm already up a few hundred bucks! Additionally, this would be a nice year end bonus to win a paid trip to worlds.
