This thing draws up at 8:30!

double beginner teams play free

Last week, the bar said there were a number of brand new players on the tables for 4 hours before the tourney. If you guys see them there, please invite them to play a pick up game or tell them about the free entry into the tournament.

Thanks!

Yeah get those beginners involved. Last week Dustin had a beginner with him and he cashed and I had a beginner playing forward for me and I cashed!

Tonight, Dustin is screwed!

I'm showing up without a P for anyone else who decides to come last minute.

Awesome playing Dustin! That 3-row was nasty. Good thing cause Glenn was lighting me up. Got a few blocks on him but overall in the KS match and the final he had my number.
The backpin had some good moments, thank Gawd! Good playing X. Nice upset for Sherm and Acuna taking down Roger and Bruce. 3-peat was in play.

your 5 is also looking better, though I still think you could fin tune the "series" part of it....but yeah Dustin, your game is getting sharp. You're really dominating the loose balls too...probably gives you an extra 5+ possessions a game. If I ever got serious about playing, I would definitely have to do whatever drills you do to work on that.

Yeah his forward game is definitely crispy. Best thing now is for him to get back in goal.

Thanks for the compliments. Had a great time last night...always fun playing with Jim, especially when the competition's tough. All of our matches went 3 games and Glenn's 3-bar was shooting way better than mine. I just got double the number of possessions thanks to Jim's BPOS clearing so well and giving me the chance to snag up the rebounds.

Scott, let's talk about the series thing on Friday, and if you're ever interested in the ball control drills, all you have to do is ask. Just don't expect an answer that involves anything remotely fun :)

Other teams last night: Louis/Peter, Knappy/Kristin, Juan/Juan, Lopez/???, Austin/Josh Y, Davin/Skum, Clay/OldManTony, and one more that I can't remember. Maybe a beginner team?

All I know is that NOBODY had as much fun as Acuna had making his run through the loser's bracket.

lol - yeah, I wouldn't think the loose ball drills would be fun, but man do they benefit one's game big time. Sticky, Kane, Ryan, Robbie...crazy loose ball skills are so underrated.

Your 5 is solid, but to me, it's like Knapton's. If you're on, you're fine, but if someone gets in your head, then you're not fine. To take it to the next level, you need to dictate everything. Though maybe when you're passing as well as you were last night, then you just keep doing what works.

Yeah, Jim's BPOS got us last night. I was not happy about that one bit. To me, it's a very limited 2 bar, and Glenn was just bailing out of the zone as both a forward, and then to end the match. To be fair, I was asking him to do something he didn't know what to do.

Still got dominated though - nice work. First time around, I was a bit pissy with some misexecutions and tight holes I didn't think you meant to do, but in the finals, you were blasting it. Real solid reads...going super deep to the corners. Awesome to make me have to start to adjust and change things up. Can't wait for next time.

Of course he has a strong 3 row, like a long time ago when he first landed here..
that would also include the five as well..
a few thought i gave him to much credit, now everyone knows better..

Outstanding Dustin, you must be reading my book in the Offensive pages..
The best defense is a forceful offensive drive.

And way to go Acuna, for taking out the #1 team in Colo and thwarting a 3- peat, and dishing out the Jim T award...
you are living proof why my prophecy holds true, at least for this year that is!

well because, if you can throw a Monkey wrench in a 3 week run, well odds are anybody can, well, except those that claim they are a higher league, and never crawl out of their cave to claim that so called higher league..
