Lots of CO players doing well, but really great work Knapton!!

Super solid weekend (and Kristiin) for you guys having been MIA for a while.

Good work Mark too!

It might be time for Dustin to be bumped up to elite status, at least in singles anyway.

So, I noticed that a player rated as expert won amateur doubles and finished 2nd in pro doubles, as a forward. Sigh...

Arron is ranked expert in singles not doubles

Yep. Clearly his doubles game is lacking.

Okay, that sounds familiar, so this is not a great example to illustrate my point, and my apologies. I see he had a strong showing at Maryland State this year, but especially in singles, so his rating seems accurate. I don't feel like digging up his results from any other tournaments he's been in since November.
Here's what I would like to see:
When I competed in ping pong, your rating was subject to change after every single match. The amount of points up for grabs was determined by the points your opponent had. If you were to beat someone rated at least 200 points higher, your rating would increase by 50 points. The potential for points would decrease if you played someone who wasn't rated as high. Of course, if you were rated higher than your opponent, then it swings the other way. Anyway, the only time the rating was subjective was after your first tournament, at the discretion of the TD. Most tournaments I played in were sanctioned, and I think they were all in Colorado. So ratings were fairly accurate, and I don't remember any sandbaggers.

Congrats to Arron on his recent success, but if he shows up in Colorado this November rated amateur in doubles, then our system is clearly flawed.

You're just pissed because you keep losing in rookie anything! Ping pong anybody?

Nick. Arron was a rookie in dubs and singles in November. So a year later you gonna object to him being amatuer? How long you been an amatuer?

I've never played against him, and don't know him, so I will assume that he combined natural talent with an enviable drive to improve. If he's traveling from California to Maryland and Texas for foosball tournaments, then my hunch has merit. He must be pretty damn good by now to be getting these results. I don't care about the time frame. Just let a computer calculate points based on what you do with your opponents.
As for me, I've been playing regularly for nearly eight years. I don't tour, I'm not talented, and my main priority in life is my family. Not sure what the problem with Josh is...

I wasn't necessarily hacking on you. I played him at nationals worlds and Colorado state. He is a good player. Primarily forward when we squared off. Really good brush that he reads, a very good roller, and extremely focused player on the table. He is a nice guy.
In 2016 he was in the finals of rookie dubs at hofc. I'm pretty sure he won that. Can't recall how he did at worlds although it could be looked up if curious. I know he didn't get nationals last year. Although he did take rookie dubs at Colorado state.

He seemed to play with honor and showed respect to others. Haven't seen his skill set this year. You can see the finals of rookie dubs at 2016 hofc on YouTube although that was over a year ago and he was playing better than that at state.

Also Rob trout knows him from California and he could give you the complete bio that you could use to help figure out if he is pro material. Not sure what brad runyan has him ranked cause he goes out of his way to make his own points ts for foosball.

At worlds a guy won rookie singles and won amatuer singles last year. So obviously there will be under ranked players at every tournament.

I get you on the not able to tour part. I think Colorado state will be my only tour event this year. See you there. And the weekly byp

Yessir! I'm hoping you and I get to battle it out in the finals of amateur singles and doubles, but I will have to practice big-time this summer to make that happen. To be clear, I have no beef with Arron (or you, Mr. Rookie in singles). My gripe is with the system.

I'm one of the few that feels my points are accurate. Low amateur 1005 points. If anything they should be lower by like 7 or 8

I'm sorry I helped to side track this post.

Congrats to all of the Colorado foosers who went to Texas state and represented us so well.

Hell ya Knapton, Tommie, Dana, CJ, Shelly, Ray, Mark, Tim Kristin, Skolnick, Christian Et al.

Badass playing. Losing sucks but the results are super solid. Not to mention Duke, Kraus, etc

Nick - Rookie gup complaints about the system are like a whisper in the wind :)
